In this work, which transforms reality into myth, a man takes his daughter to the Colombian mountains to plant thousands of trees in order to protect his family. He is carried off by snakes deep in the jungle. During the rainy season, his daughter transforms into a river and travels across the country in search of her father, bringing life wherever she goes.
Anna and Howard Moody drew inspiration from Adiós Estelaria, a personal account by dancer María Sara Villa about her father’s abduction. The work combines images drawn from her story and her grieving process—expressed through dance—with those of the Caño Cristales—the Rainbow River—which winds through the heart of a territory once controlled by guerrilla forces. A powerful work blending voice and dance by the creators of Push and Solar.
